Yes, I see all that, but I honestly don't see the excitement. So you'll be able to get extra items in PvP, big deal?

They are introducing PvP rewards. Now, instead of having to find places to farm all day for items, runes and skill points, you will be able to unlock these for your PvP characters through PvP victories. The more successful you are, the more you get rewarded.
Basically, you will get 2 options on how to go about unlocking stuff: PvE and PvP.

Too bad I have 4 characters already ... let's see how the system works in a week or so.

Do you honestly think people who strike do it because they like being unemployed and they like to whine? or they do it because they want something to be fixed.

Sounds good, should cheer up the PvP crowd, don't do alot of PvP myself, but they do mention the PvE is getting an update shortly after this.
Hope when the said "challange after ascention" they ment more quests, new maps and even new loot and not just make it harder and change a couple of spawns.
Time will tell. Looking forward to future developments with fingures crossed.

I just hope they put not only runes in, but dyes, rare weapons, and maybe in pieces of armour?

Hello everyone

This is just a friendly reminder to stay on topic. Please do *not* post about how "those whiners got what they wanted" or things like "in your face, pvers," etc. Posts like that will be considered flame-baits, and will be deleted. Let's have a nice discussion/appreciation of the update, or even a well thought out (i.e. if you have a problem, explain in detail what exactly it is and what you propose as a solution) discussion on whatever you might think of the update without the griping about other people griping.

Thank you for helping to keep Guru a pleasant place to visit.

I wonder if the next update after this will be the streaming in of one (if not both) of the new areas? That at least sounds like it's part of the "challenge after ascention."

^ thatd be cool!

I play absolutely no PvP, so this update will not effect me, but I still think its great! so many people wanted this type of thing, and Anet delivers.

I LOVE YOU ANET!

Heh.

Funny how people have been spent so much time talking about ways to increase drops without making farm zones and improving ways to get Elite skills, when the answer was so blindingly obvious we must have been blinded by its obviousness.

Guess it won't shut them up for long. FYI, I understand your pain. I just don't like reading about it.

But this is a great addition, I can't wait to try it out!

You wouldn't have to spend Fame.

You'd earn points by earning Fame and use those to unlock stuff.

I'll bet that's how it happens.

doesn't really affect me, but because it's good for the community as a whole, it gets for noses up from the slugster

One final note: Some of you will wonder if we've forgotten that ascended characters with obsidian armor need challenges too... Don't worry. You're next.

If you read what it says when you mouseover the skill points, it says that they're earned by gaining xp and earning skill points. Could it be that skill points can be obtained through skill points?! :-O
